Most rose fragrances are soft. This one has an edge to it — a bright, almost bloody metallic facet pulled up under the petals, the way a rose smells when you cut the stem with scissors. Turkish rose absolute carries the top; underneath, a copper accord keeps everything taut and slightly sharp until the amber finally softens it near the end of the day.
